Wind heavy out of the NE this morning--straight offshore. Wish there were some waves to come with it but it's another day on the lake. Cold, crisp and ultra clear on the horizon making the last day of 2014 a generally beautiful one.

Offshore wind and not a wave in sight; it's flat out there people. Better off with the sub 50°F temperatures and wind chill because it'd be damn hard to find motivation to get in anyway.

Wind off shore. Wave in the waist to chest high zone going head high on the biggest sets. Lots of NW swell forecast but only 13-14sec range showing up means lots of open corners. Little washed out with the high tide but definitely still some fun little ones to pick off. big 7ft high tide around 11:30 washes it out more then steady drop to -1.25 low at 18:30.

Wind isn't really doing anything right now but forecast to pick up and go onshore in the afternoon. Waves in the waist to chest high zone and bumpy with the high tide, jumbled sand bar and little wind swell on top. I didn't do a great job of capturing it but there are a fair few fun looking corners that a fish or hybrid board would feel real nice on. Should drain out into some gnarly backwash as the tide drops to a -1.3 low @ 17:30.

Little soft with the high tide but pretty surprising that there's no one out there getting a piece. Will probably shape up a bit more towards the -1.14ft low @ 16:50 so long as the wind doesn't get too fat.

Waves in the chest to head high range, often going upwards of head and half +. Wind is light and skies are grey. Probably a dangerous and mostly fruitless day to surf here with 10+ft swells at 17 sec coming in. In any case, watch it for a good while before getting in. I didn't have time to capture a macker set but I know they're out there. Low tide of -.85ft @ 16:10.

Waves in the waist to head high range with biggest sets going a bit overhead. Hard to gage size with no one in the water. Wind is pretty still. Light drizzle coming down. Waves in the waist to chest high range with biggest sets going head high. Wind is offshore. The Lagoon is still breached and dumping. There will still be elevated bacteria levels from that but at this point if you wear a hood or ear plugs and don't get water in your mouth you'd probably be fine. Low tide of 2.17ft @ 11:40 today will put some pop in the water as it was looking a little squish and shorebreak when I checked it ~ 7:20

New sand bars are changing the game. Wind is offshore. It's looking bumpy but holly heck it's looking pretty. rights, lefts, straights and no back wash yet. So the storm came after all. The Lagoon is super saturated. The Marin Headlands are feeling so moist night now. Wind is near gale force during sporadic squalls from the south west and waves are in the head and a half+ range? Can't tell because I couldn't open my eyes without being pelted in my eyeballs with rain. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COME HERE. It's freakin dangerous. Normally I'd recommend you roll out to point bonita just to see the magnitude/power of the beast but visibility sucks right now so it's not even close to worth it. Waves will still be huge tomorrow and way more fun to look at.

The lagoon is almost completely saturated. It's getting very exciting out here. No truly long period yet but the potato patch is definitely doing it's thing with this 10ft 15sec (at the moment) swell. Waves in the head and a half to double overhead range. Could be good somewhere that likes big north swell and south wind but do yourself a favor and get your place of living storm ready first. It's about to get all kinds of nasty out here and the surf will be epic this weekend after the lagoon dumps. WILL LIKELY FOREGO TOMORROWS REPORT FOR SAFTEY RESONS/POWER OUTAGE

Wind is very light and variable but onshore at the moment. Waves in the chest to head high range with sets going a foot or two overhead. Looks like some fun corners between lots of close outs and a gnarly paddle out. Waves aren't predicted to go kamikaze until early tomorrow but don't be surprised if you paddle out and see sets looking that way today. The 12:15 6ft high tide will bring softer but much bigger faces -- look for things to be in the head and a half range. Today is the last safe-ish day to be in the water here until the weekend. The lagoon will likely break between thurs-friday so look forward to some new sand bars next week.

Wind is very light offshore and waves are in the waist to chest high zone with head high sets likely. Looking squishy with the 6.35ft 11:35 high tide approaching. WARNING: Big long period swell on tap to show up over the next 24 hours and stick around for 3 full days. Look at the buoy and expect things to get harry as soon as the 17+ sec period shows up with consistency. With that in mind, it's supposed to show up small (1.5ft) at first and could be throwing some fun head high lines off the point with the low tide later. That being said, it could also go close out long before that. In any case don't expect to surf here Tues-Friday.
